Black Friday 2025 has arrived early for UK households hunting cheaper internet. Major providers launched their sales in early November, with discounts running until December.

The average UK household pays around £37.62 monthly for broadband. Switch now and you can cut that by more than half.

What Makes This Year’s Deals Different

Providers can’t hide price increases anymore. Since 17 January 2025, companies must tell you exactly what you’ll pay when contract prices change. No more surprise inflation-linked hikes buried in small print.

You’ll see clear pricing upfront. When Virgin Media advertises £24.99 monthly, they’ll show you the £68 standard rate that kicks in after 24 months.

Best Black Friday Broadband Deals Available Now

Virgin Media

Virgin Media started strong with three months free on select packages.

M250 broadband hits £0 monthly for three months, then £24.99. That’s 264Mbps average speed on a 24-month contract. Standard pricing jumps to £68 after your initial term.

Their Gig1 package (1136Mbps) costs £0 for three months, then £32.99 monthly. You’ll get Netflix Standard included at no extra charge.

M350 broadband offers £0 for three months, then £28.99 monthly for 362Mbps speeds. The deals run until 10 December 2025.

Sky Broadband

Sky claims their “lowest ever price” on Full Fibre 150 at £25 monthly. The package includes 150Mbps speeds on a 24-month contract, available until 4 December 2025.

Prices can change during your contract period. Sky’s standard rate currently sits at £46 monthly after the promotional period ends.

Their Full Fibre 500 costs £29 monthly, while the 900Mbps package is priced at £38 monthly.

EE Full Fibre

EE’s Black Friday sale offers 100Mbps full fibre for £26.99 monthly. That increases to £30.99 from 31 March 2026, then £34.99 from 31 March 2027.

Their fastest 900Mbps package costs £36.99 monthly – EE’s lowest price for that speed tier. The 300Mbps option sits at £30.99 monthly, and 500Mbps costs £34.99 monthly.

Switch from another provider and EE covers up to £300 of your early exit fees. EE’s Black Friday deals run until 10 December 2025.

Plusnet

Plusnet offers Full Fibre packages starting from £21.99 monthly on 24-month contracts. Selected packages include Plusnet Reward Cards worth £65-£100, though you should check current availability as some reward card offers had limited timeframes.

Prices rise £4 annually each 31 March. Out-of-bundle charges increase 5% at the same time.

Community Fibre

London residents can grab six months free broadband. Community Fibre runs a 100% full fibre network with speeds up to 5Gbps.

Their 300Mbps package costs £0 for six months, then pricing kicks in afterwards. The 1Gbps and 2.5Gbps packages also qualify for the six-month free promotion.

Prices increase £2 each April. The offer ends 2 December 2025.

How Much Can You Actually Save

Compare the Market data shows 28.57% of households could save from £247.49 yearly by switching. That’s based on households paying the £37.62 monthly average versus the cheapest superfast broadband at £17 monthly.

Uswitch suggests potential savings of £203 when you switch during Black Friday.

Gift cards and reward schemes add value beyond monthly discounts. Virgin Media, Plusnet and others offer reward cards on top of reduced rates, though availability varies by package and timing.

Speed Options Explained

Standard Fibre (30-70Mbps)
Handles basic browsing and HD streaming for small households.

Superfast Fibre (100-350Mbps)
Works for families with multiple devices. Supports 4K streaming and video calls simultaneously.

Ultrafast/Gigabit (500Mbps-1Gbps+)
Built for heavy users. Multiple people can game online, stream 4K content and work from home without slowdown.

Virgin Media’s Gig1 reaches 1136Mbps average speeds. EE offers packages up to 1.6Gbps in full fibre areas – that’s 44 times faster than standard fibre. Sky’s fastest package delivers 900Mbps.

When Black Friday Deals End

Most providers run promotions through early December 2025. End dates vary by provider.

Key Dates:

  • Black Friday: 28 November 2025
  • Cyber Monday: 1 December 2025
  • Community Fibre offer ends: 2 December 2025
  • Sky deals end: 4 December 2025
  • Virgin Media and EE deals end: 10 December 2025

Check individual provider websites for specific deadline information, as some offers may change or expire earlier.

What to Check Before You Switch

Total Contract Cost

Calculate what you’ll pay across the full contract term. A package at £25 monthly for 18 months then £50 monthly for six months costs £750 total – not £450.

Add setup costs. Most providers waive installation fees during Black Friday, but verify this before ordering.

Exit Fees from Current Provider

Check your existing contract end date. Early termination fees can hit £200+.

EE covers up to £300 of exit charges when you switch. Factor this into your comparison.

Speed Availability

Postcode determines what speeds reach your property. Virgin Media’s gigabit service isn’t available everywhere. Full fibre coverage varies by area.

Enter your postcode on provider websites to see actual speeds available at your address.

Contract Length

Most Black Friday deals lock you in for 18-24 months. Break the contract early and you’ll pay penalty fees.

Shorter 12-month contracts exist but typically cost more monthly.

Mid-Contract Price Changes

All providers can raise prices during your contract. They must tell you the new rate when you sign up.

Plusnet increases prices £4 yearly each March. Virgin Media and Sky apply their own annual adjustments. Read the terms to understand future costs.

Bundle Deals Worth Considering

Combine broadband with TV, phone or mobile for extra savings.

Virgin Media’s Entertainment package includes Mega TV and M350 broadband (362Mbps) for £0 monthly for three months, then £36.99. You get Netflix Standard included.

Sky bundles broadband with Sky TV channels and sports. Their Sport + Cinema package with M500 broadband costs £0 for three months, then £66.99 monthly.

Bundle pricing varies by location and availability – check what’s offered at your specific postcode.

Questions to Ask Before Buying

Can I keep my phone number?
Yes, if you’re taking a landline. Providers transfer your number when you switch.

How long until installation?
Expect 10-14 days for standard installations. Some full fibre installs take three weeks.

What equipment comes included?
Most providers supply a router at no charge. Virgin Media includes their Hub, Sky provides the Sky Hub, EE sends their Smart Hub Plus.

Will speeds drop at peak times?
Full fibre connections maintain speeds better than part-fibre. Check the average speed guarantee – providers must deliver at least 50% of advertised speeds between 8pm-10pm.

What happens after the promotional period?
Prices revert to standard rates. Virgin Media’s £24.99 deal jumps to £68. Set a calendar reminder before your contract ends to negotiate or switch again.

Provider Customer Service Ratings

Plusnet wins Best Buy and Best Value awards for broadband. They run UK-based customer support seven days weekly.

EE’s reliability features include self-monitoring that detects and fixes issues automatically.

Check Trustpilot and independent reviews before committing. Customer service quality varies significantly between providers.

How to Compare Deals Effectively

  1. List your household’s actual needs – number of devices, typical usage, work-from-home requirements
  2. Use comparison sites to check all providers available at your postcode
  3. Calculate total cost including setup fees and post-promotional pricing
  4. Read contract terms for price increase clauses
  5. Verify speeds available at your specific address
  6. Check review scores for reliability and customer support

Take Action Now

Black Friday broadband deals represent genuine value for UK households. Providers compete hard during this period, offering discounts not available other times of year.

Start by checking what’s available at your postcode. Comparison sites like Compare the Market, Uswitch, and MoneySuperMarket all show deals filtered to your location.

Don’t wait until 28 November. Many top offers expire in early December – Community Fibre’s six months free ends 2 December, Sky’s deals finish 4 December, and Virgin Media with EE run until 10 December 2025.

The average household wastes £247+ yearly overpaying for broadband. Switch during Black Friday and lock in savings for the next two years. Always verify current pricing and availability directly with providers, as deals can change or sell out before the advertised end date.
