Zzoomm and BeFibre Introduce Wi-Fi 7 Routers for All New UK Customers
In a significant move to enhance customer experience, UK broadband providers Zzoomm and BeFibre have rolled out Wi-Fi 7 capable routers for all new customers across their plans. The introduction of this cutting-edge technology positions the ISPs at the forefront of delivering ultrafast, low-latency internet connectivity to modern homes.
Seamless Integration and Enhanced Performance
The new Wi-Fi 7 routers, manufactured by Switzerland-based Heights Telecom, offer a host of advanced features to ensure a seamless online experience. With peak theoretical Wi-Fi speeds of up to 18.1Gbps on tri-band models, these routers can effortlessly handle the demands of multiple connected devices.
“Delivering Wi-Fi 7 today is part of our continued dedication to enhancing customer experience,” said Simon Gray, Brand and Marketing Director at Zzoomm and BeFibre. “As Wi-Fi 7 becomes more prevalent across consumer devices, we’ll be well-positioned to ensure our customers can make the most of their devices’ capability.”
Empowering Multi-Gigabit Broadband
The introduction of Wi-Fi 7 routers coincides with the launch of BeFibre’s 2300Mbps Full Fibre plan in November 2024, allowing the ISPs to pair multi-gigabit broadband with multi-gigabit Wi-Fi. This powerful combination ensures that customers can fully leverage the potential of their high-speed internet connections.
“The new Hub offers an enhanced Wi-Fi experience with signal rates up to 6.5Gbps,” Gray added. “It also enhances our network integration through the inclusion of an FXS port for a more seamless digital phone experience and multiple gigabit-enabled WAN/LAN ports for those ‘must-have’ hard-wired devices.”
Positive Impact on Households
The deployment of Wi-Fi 7 routers has been well-received by Zzoomm and BeFibre customers. Sarah Thompson, a homeowner from Manchester, expressed her satisfaction: “Since switching to the new Wi-Fi 7 router, our entire family has noticed a significant improvement in internet speed and reliability. We can now stream 4K content, play online games, and work from home simultaneously without any buffering or lag.”
Another customer, Mark Wilson from London, shared his experience: “As someone who heavily relies on a stable internet connection for my home-based business, the Wi-Fi 7 router has been a game-changer. The low latency and consistent performance have made video conferencing and file transfers a breeze.”
Pricing and Availability
Alongside the Wi-Fi 7 router rollout, Zzoomm has refreshed its pricing structure. The 200Mbps and 500Mbps packages have been reduced by £2 per month, while the 1000Mbps tier is now £3 cheaper. The top-tier 2300Mbps package has seen a £6 reduction. BeFibre has aligned its prices to match Zzoomm’s offerings.
The Wi-Fi 7 routers are available to all new Zzoomm and BeFibre customers as a standard offering. Existing customers can upgrade to the new hardware if they encounter issues with their current routers or when their contracts are up for renewal.
Looking Ahead
As the demand for high-speed, reliable internet continues to grow, the adoption of Wi-Fi 7 technology by Zzoomm and BeFibre sets a new benchmark for broadband providers in the UK. With enhanced performance and seamless integration, these ISPs are well-positioned to meet the evolving needs of their customers in an increasingly connected world.
The combined Fibre-to-the-Premises (FTTP) network of FullFibre and Zzoomm currently reaches 600,000 premises across England, serving parts of 100 market towns. As the network expands and more households embrace Wi-Fi 7, the impact on productivity, entertainment, and overall quality of life is expected to be significant.
