Fusion Fibre Group Partners with F&W Networks to Expand Full Fibre Broadband in Southern England
In a strategic move to bring ultrafast, reliable broadband to more communities, rural network builder and ISP Fusion Fibre Group has teamed up with alternative network operator F&W Networks (Fibre and Wireless). The partnership aims to accelerate the rollout of full-fibre connectivity across Southern England.
Expanding Coverage and Boosting Take-Up
Under the agreement, Fusion Fibre Group will integrate access to F&W Network’s open access fibre Infrastructure, extending their coverage to parts of South East England, including Greater London, Buckinghamshire, Hampshire, Hertfordshire, Oxfordshire, Surrey, and West Sussex.
F&W claims their gigabit-capable network currently covers 410,000 UK premises ready-for-service as of February 2024, with a growing customer base of over 35,000. Several retail ISPs already sell packages via F&W’s network.
"We’re thrilled to partner with F&W Networks, whose commitment to building high quality fibre infrastructure aligns perfectly with our mission," said Adrian Marsham, MD of Fusion Fibre Group. "This partnership enables us to extend our full fibre services to more communities across the South of England, ensuring that both rural and growing urban centres benefit from the kind of full fibre connectivity that transforms lives."
Delivering Future-Ready Infrastructure
José Luis San Martín, CEO at F&W Networks, emphasized their mission to "deliver future-ready digital infrastructure to communities that need it most." He sees Fusion Fibre Group as an ideal collaborator due to their customer-first ethos and rapid growth.
"Together, we’ll bring high quality full fibre connectivity to thousands more homes and businesses," San Martín added.
While the partnership may not directly accelerate the physical rollout of fibre-to-the-premises (FTTP), it will make the service more widely available to potential Fusion Fibre customers. Increased take-up helps support the economic case for future network expansion.
Transforming Lives with Full Fibre
Homeowners in the newly served areas are excited about the potential impact of full fibre broadband. Sarah Thompson, a resident of rural Oxfordshire, looks forward to reliable connectivity for her home-based business.
"I’ve been struggling with slow, patchy broadband for years," Thompson said. "Having access to full fibre will be a game-changer. I’ll finally be able to run my online shop smoothly and participate in video calls without constant freezing and dropouts."
In growing urban centres like Guildford, Surrey, the demand for high-speed broadband is also strong. With more professionals working from home and families streaming entertainment, full fibre is becoming a necessity.
"We have multiple devices connected at once, and our current broadband just can’t keep up," said Mark Davis, a Guildford resident. "Switching to full fibre through Fusion Fibre will give us the speed and reliability we need for work, school, and leisure."
Looking Ahead
As Fusion Fibre Group and F&W Networks move forward with their partnership, the potential for further expansion remains promising. By leveraging shared infrastructure and expertise, they are well-positioned to bring full fibre broadband to even more underserved communities in the future.
With the UK government’s goal of achieving nationwide gigabit-capable coverage by 2030, collaborations like this one will play a crucial role in making that vision a reality. For residents and businesses in Southern England, the arrival of ultrafast, reliable connectivity marks an exciting step into the digital future.
