CityFibre Expands Reach to 730,000 UK Homes

CityFibre, the UK’s largest independent full fibre platform, now passes 730,000 homes with its gigabit-capable broadband network. The company aims to reach 8 million premises by 2025.

Rollout Accelerates in 2022

CityFibre’s network deployment gained momentum in 2022, with 380,000 additional homes passed since January. “We’re thrilled to bring lightning-fast internet to even more communities across Britain,” said CityFibre CEO Greg Mesch.

Residents Embrace Full Fibre

Homeowners in CityFibre rollout areas are eagerly signing up for gigabit speeds. “The difference is night and day,” said Manchester resident Emily Thompson, 42. “I can now work from home without any lag or dropouts.”

In Nottingham, the Patel family streams HD movies on multiple devices simultaneously. “It’s a game-changer,” said Priya Patel, 35. “No more fighting over bandwidth!”

ISPs Partner for Wider Availability

CityFibre has partnered with over 30 ISPs, including TalkTalk, Vodafone, and Zen Internet, to deliver full fibre to both homes and businesses. These providers offer competitively-priced gigabit packages starting from £20-25 per month.

Cities See Economic Benefits

Local leaders praise the economic impact of CityFibre’s rollout. “Reliable high-speed connectivity attracts new businesses and allows existing ones to thrive,” said Leeds City Council leader James Lewis.

Peterborough has seen a 10% increase in tech startups since CityFibre’s arrival. “It’s putting our city on the digital map,” said Mayor Paula Shelton.

Full Fibre for a Digital Future

As remote work and online learning become the norm, full fibre is increasingly essential. “Gigabit speeds are no longer a luxury, but a necessity,” said tech analyst Sarah Finley.

CityFibre plans to invest over £4 billion in its rollout, creating up to 10,000 jobs. The company’s ultimate goal: to future-proof Britain’s digital infrastructure for generations to come.
