O2 Unveils Discounted TNT Sports Package for UK Mobile Customers

In a move set to delight sports fans across the UK, mobile operator O2 has announced a new partnership with TNT Sports, offering millions of customers access to premium sports content at a discounted price.

£4 Monthly Savings on TNT Sports

Starting today, O2 customers can add TNT Sports to their mobile plan for just £26.99 per month – a £4 savings compared to the standard £30.99 monthly fee. The package includes access to the TNT Sports app, featuring live football, rugby, and tennis matches.

“We’re thrilled to bring the excitement of live sports to our customers at an unbeatable value,” said David Bouchier, Chief TV and Entertainment Officer at VMO2. “For less than £27 a month, fans can catch every goal, try, and ace right on their mobile.”

Additional £2 Airtime Discount

As an added bonus, customers who sign up for the TNT Sports Extra will also receive a £2 monthly discount on their O2 Airtime bill. This effectively brings the cost of the sports package down to just £24.99 per month.

“We wanted to create an offer that truly rewards our customers for their loyalty,” Bouchier explained. “By bundling in the Airtime discount, we’re putting even more money back in their pockets each month.”

Easy Activation via MyO2

To take advantage of the new TNT Sports Extra, O2 customers simply need to log into the MyO2 app or visit the O2 Extras web portal. New customers can add the package when signing up for an eligible Pay Monthly plan online, in-store, or by phone.

“We’ve made it incredibly easy for customers to access this exclusive deal,” said Bouchier. “Whether you’re a new or existing O2 subscriber, you can unlock the action in just a few taps.”

Joining a Growing Lineup of O2 Extras

TNT Sports is the latest addition to O2’s portfolio of Extras, which allow customers to customize their mobile plans with premium content and services. Other popular Extras include:

  • Disney+ for £5.99/month
  • Amazon Prime for £8.99/month (with £2 discount)
  • Cafeyn digital magazines for £7.99/month
  • McAfee Mobile Security Plus for £4.99/month

“Our Extras platform is all about giving customers the freedom to create a mobile plan that’s tailored to their interests and lifestyle,” Bouchier noted. “With TNT Sports now in the mix, we’re confident there’s something for everyone.”

Tapping into the UK’s Love of Sports

O2’s partnership with TNT Sports comes as no surprise given the UK’s insatiable appetite for live sports content. According to recent surveys, nearly 60% of British consumers regularly watch sports on their mobile devices.

“Mobile is increasingly becoming the go-to screen for sports fans,” said industry analyst Sarah Thompson. “By offering a premium sports package at an affordable price point, O2 is positioning itself to capture a significant share of this growing market.”

Looking Ahead

As the battle for mobile subscribers heats up, experts predict that more operators will look to differentiate themselves through exclusive content deals and bundled extras.

“In today’s hyper-competitive landscape, it’s no longer enough to just offer fast data speeds and reliable coverage,” Thompson said. “Operators need to give customers compelling reasons to choose their network over rivals. Partnerships like this one between O2 and TNT Sports will be key to driving subscriber growth and reducing churn in the coming years.”
